The U.S. Department of Agriculture has given the green light to Big Ag to market two varieties of GMO apples, including Arctic apples.
These non-browning apples are among the first GMO whole foods to reach the U.S. market. They won’t be labeled – so you won’t know if your apple-a-day is engineered or not.
But there is something we can do about it! Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) have introduced the Genetically Engineered Food Right-to-Know Act that would require labeling of foods with genetically engineered ingredients.
