Tell the FDA: Get Lead Out of Cosmetics!

Scientists agree that there is no safe level of lead exposure for developing children. Even trace exposures can cause irreversible changes, including diminished IQ and behavioral problems.

Yet every day, millions of women get a little bit of toxic lead on their lips with every swipe of their lipstick.

The FDA is proposing to allow lead in lipstick and other beauty products at levels that may be unsafe for pregnant women, children and teens, so now is the time for your voice to be heard. The science is settled that lead is unsafe for our babies and children – it should not be in our lipstick or other cosmetics.

Help EWG tell the FDA that there is no safe level of lead in lipstick, and that personal care products containing lead should have a clear and conspicuous warning.

Please add your name to EWG’s petition and tell the FDA to protect us from lead in cosmetics!
